A couple of fun days

We've been having relaxing fun days since both of us are currently home with Ellie. It's nice to be able to stop, take pictures and even post to the blog regularly. Ellie is finally big enough to fit in a ruffled hat with a knitted flower that I knit for her. I knitted this hat one day when I was eight months pregnant and holding a garage sale by myself. It was a very productive day! At the time, I had no idea Miss Ellie's eyes would be so blue. I think she looks gorgeous in it!

The second Tuesday of every month is two dollar admission at the zoo here, so for six bucks we got a fun filled day at the zoo this past Tuesday. It freakishly snowed all day, which was nice because we like the snow and not many other people ventured out to the zoo. I love days like that because the animals are very friendly to the few people they see and you can have some really fun interactions with them and avoid the crowds. This was Ellie's first trip to the zoo and she handled the outing well. She was a lot less interested in the animals than we were, but she liked the bird noises and watching us look at the animals.
Akeem the giraffe was particularly happy to see us! Did you know that giraffes have black tongues?

Ellie speaks!

After many failed attempts to edit videos we've taken .... we FINALLY were able to edit some today. Below is just a clip of Ellie being really cute and weird when I was changing her diaper. For some reason, she really like to talk into my mouth. Strange, but extremely cute!!

Pretty in Pink

Ellie and I had a little photo session today. First she showed off her amazing abs while attempting to sit up on her own.

Next she made dramatic faces for the camera just like any supermodel.
After she was warmed up, she showed off today's apparal.... a pink bumgenius and John Deere boots. Did I mention she likes to hang out upside down?
Then she got really excited. I like to think she burns off that last bit of energy just before she crashes.....
And sure enough, just a couple of minutes later she was all tuckered out from the excitement. After a few minutes sucking on her thumb, it was time for her afternoon nap. :) Josh and I aren't huge fans of pink, but even I have to admit that Ellie looks adorable in that color.
